WOOLWICH, Maine (WMTW) — A woman from Woolwich says a political canvasser took an Amazon package from her front porch Wednesday afternoon after leaving a flyer in support of U.S. Senator Susan Collins.

Marion Cressey shared doorbell video of the incident with Maine’s Total Coverage which shows a man canvassing for Stronger Maine, a conservative political group.

According to Cressey, the man approached her home, placed a Susan Collins flyer on the door and looked around before taking a package from the front step.

Cressey said she was surprised by what she saw and shared the video to warn her neighbors.

“Like what the heck is he doing?,” said Cressey. “I was dumbfounded and I had to watch the video a couple of times to really make sure I was seeing what I saw. If you see something, say something. This could have been worse.”

Stronger Maine said Thursday that the man seen in the video has been fired.

The Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Office said the canvasser has been identified and is expected to face charges.

Cressey said she has not received reimbursement for the package.
