Doing heroin in sheriff’s office bathroom lands woman in jail, deputies say

    DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. (WYFF) — Doing heroin in the bathroom at the sheriff’s office landed a North Carolina woman in jail, according to authorities in Davidson County, North Carolina.

On Sept. 10, 2026, employees at the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office said they noticed Samantha Stilwell, 47, of Thomasville, North Carolina, make multiple trips to the public restroom and noticed a change in her demeanor.

They said Stilwell was there with someone who had an appointment at the facility regarding their sex offender registry requirements.

Detectives said they met with Stilwell in the lobby and determined that she had used heroin while inside the public restroom.

Detectives said they found a small amount of suspected heroin that had been left inside the restroom, along with drug paraphernalia.

Stilwell was placed under arrest and taken to the Davidson County Magistrate’s Office.

She was charged with felony possession of a Schedule I controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
