Injured climber rescued from 700-foot cliff in Sierra Nevada

California (KFSN) — Dramatic video has been released of the rescue of an injured climber from a 700-foot cliff at Courtright Reservoir.
The CHP Coastal Division Air Operations received a request for the rescue Friday afternoon.
The aircraft responded from its base at Paso Robles Airport and headed to the southwestern area of the Sierra Nevada.
A climber had fallen off a steep rock face and was in urgent need of medical care.
The man was hoisted and taken to an awaiting ambulance.
Various agencies responded, including the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office, CAL FIRE, Shaver Lake Volunteer Fire Department and the Forest Service.
