Woman arrested on suspicion of DUI in Coachella

COACHELLA, Calif. (CNS) – A 33-year-old woman suspected of crashing her vehicle while impaired, leaving two people injured today in Coachella was arrested.

The suspect, a Coachella resident, was booked into Benoit Detention Center in Indio on suspicion of DUI, according to Sgt. Robert Martinez of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

Bail information was not immediately available.

Deputies responded to a report of a traffic collision at 12:26 a.m. Thursday in the area of Tripoli Way and Avenue 52.

Arriving deputies reported that a single-vehicle collision had occurred, Martinez said. Two people were taken to a local hospital in stable vital signs. It was not immediately clear if the injured individuals were occupants inside the vehicle or pedestrians.

Details surrounding the crash was not immediately known. The investigation was ongoing.
