Fire spreads from trailer to commercial building in Burns
Bend, Ore. (KTVZ) — A fire that originated in a fifth-wheel trailer spread to a nearby commercial structure in Burns around 6:26 a.m. Thursday.
No injuries were reported in connection with the incident.
Burns Fire Department command 100 and engine 101 arrived shortly after receiving the call to find flames already inside the commercial building. The Hines Fire Department provided mutual aid to assist with fire suppression efforts and water tender shuttle operations.
Firefighting conditions inside the structure were too dangerous for firefighters to enter the building. Burns Fire Ladder 112 played a major role in extinguishing the fire through aerial ladder water operations. The response marked the first call to service for Ladder 112 since it was put into operation exactly one week prior.
Harney District EMS also responded to the scene during firefighting operations to support firefighter safety.
After the fire was extinguished, multiple law enforcement and fire agencies arrived to assist with investigation efforts. The Burns Police Department, Hines Police Department, Oregon State Police and an Oregon State Fire Marshal deputy are investigating the incident.
