CATHEDRAL CITY, Calif. (KESQ) – Pedestrian deaths remain a concern across the Coachella Valley, raising questions about what makes some roads more dangerous and what can be done to prevent future crashes.

News Channel 3 is looking at the role speed, lighting, visibility and road design can play in pedestrian safety, while also examining what local cities are doing to address those risks.

Cathedral City officials are among those speaking with News Channel 3 about changes already made, projects underway and how engineers decide where safety improvements are needed most.
