Unsafe lane change causes deadly Transmountain crash: Sheriff’s office
UPDATE (Sep. 1, 2026): A 37-year-old El Paso man died in a crash on Loop 375 (Transmountain) near Museums on Monday, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies said it happened at 4:38 p.m. The investigation revealed that a Toyota Tacoma drove on the right lane of Loop 375 west while a Toyota Camry drove in the left lane.
The Tacoma made an unsafe lane change and crashed into the Camry, EPCSO said.
The Tacoma’s driver, Eric Reyes, went to a hospital, where he later died.
EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) — Monday, the El Paso Police Department said east and westbound lanes on the Loop 375 (Transmountain) closed after a vehicle overturned.
Police said on X that it happened on Transmountain at Museums around 4:47 p.m. There’s no clearing time.
No word of any injuries.
Texas Department of Transportation cameras showed part of the backup caused by the overturned vehicle.
An overturned vehicle shut down all lanes on Loop 375 East and West (Transmountain) at Museums.
