Division I Basketball Takes Center Stage at Mountain America Center This Thanksgiving
IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI) — Premier NCAA Division I men’s basketball will be throwing down the gauntlet in Eastern Idaho this fall.
The Mountain America Center has officially announced it will host the inaugural Snake River Invitational, bringing four standout programs to Idaho Falls for a six-game, round-robin showcase over Thanksgiving weekend (November 27–29). The tournament field features Boise State, Drake, North Texas, and North Dakota State—promising fans an action-packed holiday slate under one roof.
“The Snake River Invitational is a tremendous opportunity to bring major college basketball to Idaho Falls and showcase the Mountain America Center as a destination for premier sporting events,” said Aaron White, General Manager, Mountain America Center.” Having four outstanding programs like Boise State, Drake, North Texas and North Dakota State competing under one roof will create an incredible experience for basketball fans.”
Beyond the court, Idaho Falls Auditorium District Director Rob Spear says the three-day event is anticipated to deliver a significant boost to the local economy.
“Idaho Falls is quickly becoming a terrific destination for major sporting events,” said Spear. “This tournament gives us another opportunity to put our community in the spotlight and give fans an unforgettable college basketball experience.”
