Idaho State Police issues safety warning during Raspberry Days
BEAR LAKE, Idaho (KIFI) — With Raspberry Days around the corner, Idaho State Police is urging people to put safety first following several fatal incidents in the area this summer.
“We’ve seen firsthand how quickly a fun day can turn tragic,” Capt. Clint Skinner said. “As we welcome thousands of visitors for Raspberry Days, we’re asking everyone to slow down, wear a seat belt, wear a life jacket on the water and never drive impaired. A few responsible decisions can make the difference between a safe weekend and a tragedy.”
Idaho State Police is partnering with the Bear Lake County Sheriff’s Office, Idaho Department of Lands and Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation to coordinate emergency response efforts throughout the weekend.
ISP said it will maintain an increased law enforcement presence in the Bear Lake area through the end of the summer.
