Brown County doctor accused of sexually assaulting patients no longer listed as inmate

BROWN COUNTY, Ohio (WLWT) — A Brown County heart doctor accused of sexually assaulting patients is no longer listed as an inmate at the county jail.
In court Wednesday, a judge set bond for Dr. Ali Ghasemzadeh at $700,000.
He faces six sex-crime charges after two patients accused him of assaulting them during medical appointments: One in June 2025 and the other on July 14.
Prosecutors argued Ghasemzadeh poses a risk to public safety and said more potential victims have come forward since the case became public this week.
They say additional charges could be filed.
The judge ordered Ghasemzadeh to have no contact with the two victims named in the complaint. He is also barred from leaving the state and must surrender his passports.
His next court appearance is scheduled for next Thursday.
