Roads flooding in North Texas after morning storms swept across the region

Texas (KTVT) — Much of North Texas woke up to stormy weather on Friday, with a cluster of strong storms moving across the Metroplex since before 6 a.m.
The storms have produced very heavy rainfall, frequent lightning and gusty winds.
The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning for parts of Dallas, Collin and Denton Counties until 10:45 a.m. The NWS also issued a flood advisory for other parts of North Texas.
Video from areas around Dallas show vehicles driving through flooded streets, with some getting stuck in the high waters.
Besides the flooding, the Storm Prediction Center issued a level 1 risk for severe storms, with damaging winds being the main threat.
The FAA put in place a nationwide ground stop for both DFW and Dallas Love Field airports, keeping all inbound planes at their origins. The ground stop for Love Field expired at 9 a.m. The DFW ground stop was extended to at least 10 a.m, but was narrowed to just the southern portion of the U.S.
As of 9 a.m., 451 flights into or out of DFW have been delayed and 223 canceled, according to flight tracking site FlightAware. There are 137 delays and 65 cancellations into or out of Love Field.
Thousands of North Texans are also dealing with power outages. Oncor reports more than 35,000 customers are without power in Dallas, Tarrant, Collin and Denton Counties as of 9 a.m.
