BREAKING NEWS: Bend woman killed in bicycle crash in Ventura, California

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) — Two bicyclists were killed and a third injured after a suspected DUI crash along the Pacific Coast Highway in Ventura County, California, on June 11.
Police say a 24-year-old man from Oxnard was behind the wheel of a gray Nissan Frontier pickup when he veered into a designated bike lane near Solimar Beach Road, striking three cyclists from behind.
Ventura County Medical Examiners confirmed to KTVZ News, Kellie Standish, 33, of Bend, and William Tucker, 39, of Ventura, California died from their injuries. A third cyclist suffered minor injuries.
Police say, the crash happened around 7:08 p.m. along northbound State Route 1. The California Highway Patrol says the truck was traveling about 50 to 55 miles per hour when, for reasons still under investigation, it drifted onto the right shoulder and into the bike lane.
After hitting the cyclists, the truck continued forward, hitting the guardrail and coming to rest on the shoulder.
Investigators say the driver showed signs of alcohol impairment and was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
