Redmond speed cameras begin issuing tickets today
Tracee Tuesday
REDMOND, Ore. (KTVZ) — Redmond drivers—consider this your final warning: slow down, or pay up.
The Redmond Police Department is now issuing citations through its Automated Photo Enforcement Program after a 30-day warning period ended Sunday. Since launching Phase One on May 15, officers had been stopping suspected speeders and issuing warnings—but starting today, those violations come with a ticket.
Now, questions are turning to how the program is working in real time.
KTVZ’s Tracee Tuesday is checking in with Redmond Police about how many warnings were issued during the grace period, what drivers can expect now that citations are active, and how officers are ensuring accuracy and fairness with the automated system.
She’s also talking with residents who live near the camera locations—asking whether they’ve noticed changes in driver behavior, and hearing their concerns, questions, and reactions to the increased enforcement in their neighborhoods.
