KENOSHA, Wisconsin (WISN) — A Kenosha mother is mourning the loss of her three children who died in a fire at their father’s apartment on Thanksgiving Day.

“Instead of Christmas shopping, it’s casket shopping,” said Jourdan Feasby, the mother of 10-year-old Rylee, 9-year-old Connor and 7-year-old Alena.

The fire happened at an apartment complex near 43rd Avenue and 52nd Street in Kenosha, with flames breaking out around 10:30 p.m., according to the Kenosha Fire Department.

Feasby had spent Thanksgiving morning with her children before they were dropped off at their father’s apartment later that evening.

“I couldn’t process what I was hearing on the phone. They were just my whole world, and they were literally the brightest things that I have ever had in my life,” Feasby said.

She described the close bond between her children, who were just 17 months apart.

“They were just the three little amigos,” Feasby said.

The siblings were not only close but each had their own unique spark, whether it was singing, making videos, or playing on the playground.

Feasby finds solace in the memories captured on camera, though she struggles with the pain of being left behind.

“It does bring you peace that they are all together, that way none of them are alone, but it’s also hard in a selfish sense for myself because I didn’t want to get left behind,” Feasby said.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire, and the family has set up a GoFundMe for funeral costs.
