One person had moderate injuries Friday after a tire struck the windshield of a vehicle in the eastbound lane of Instate 70 near mile marker 140 in Callaway County, according to a crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The report says a tire came off an “unknown vehicle” and hit the windshield of a 2022 Buick Enclave.
MSHP’s Troop F – which covers much of Mid-Missouri – shared on its social media at 10:21 a.m. Friday that the interstate was blocked while troopers investigated a crash with an entrapment. Troop F wrote that the interstate was back open at 11:04 a.m.
The Buick was driven by a 53-year-old man from Florissant, Missouri. The driver had no reported injuries.
A 47-year-old woman – who was a passenger in the Buck – had moderate injuries and was brought to University Hospital by ambulance, the report says. Both people in the vehicle wore seatbelts, the report says. The Buick had extensive damage, according to the report.
MSHP reports do not name those involved in crashes.
