YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) – The man accused of shooting at a Yuma County Sheriff’s Office (YCSO) helicopter appeared in court Monday where he was formally charged.
51-year-old Muburak Prince of Dateland pleaded not guilty to seven counts including aggravated assault, endangerment, and disorderly conduct.
On June 13, Prince is accused of opening fire on an unmarked sheriff’s helicopter. YCSO said the aircraft was damaged, but there were no injuries.
Three counts of attempted murder were initially brought against Prince, but those charges were not filed.
Prince remains under custody and is being held on a $1 million bond.
He is scheduled to be back in court next week.
