Man struck by vehicle in Holtville expected to make full recovery

HOLTVILLE, Calif. (KYMA, KECY)- A man was hit by a vehicle after he attempted to cross the street in Holtville.
The Holtville Fire Department (HFD) says the 70-year-old man was crossing Fifth Street and Walnut Avenue on Monday, June 23 when he was hit.
HFD says the driver had the right of way.
“The driver stayed on scene and assisted us and provided with medical aid till we got there he was of course in shock about what happened but we talked to him and he will be okay,” said Fire Chief Alex Silva.
The man suffered major injuries to the right side of his body, including on his face and some broken bones.
He was airlifted to Desert Regional and is expected to make a full recovery.
